About Shams

Shams Association for Women and Children is registered in the Republic of Turkey on 09/10/2015 under registration number 031-2017-43, and is headquartered in Istanbul. It is a non-profit humanitarian association concerned with children and breadwinner women by supporting and qualifying them to have a positive role in society, enabling them to secure a decent life for themselves and their families, and transforming the family from need and dependence on others to an effective, productive family that benefits itself and society. Our mission is to advance the reality of breadwinner women and children cognitively, socially and economically according to sustainable development programs, using all available modern means, and in partnerships with international and local institutions with expertise.

We seek to build a society in which all means of social support, psychological and moral support are available to women and children, which enables women to achieve their full potential and ensures the growth of children and the development of their abilities in a healthy and safe environment.

A rising, high, illuminating sun whose beam of light reached five countries (Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Jordan, Turkey) and shone on refugees scattered in the diaspora and border lands without a name... A sun, new partnerships with charitable institutions, diverse and different activities, new countries, broader and more comprehensive visions... Thanks to you, after God, we were able to extend the helping hand that our religion recommended... We could not remove the effects of wounds, but we stopped the pain. We did not bring them homelands, but we planted them inside them. We tried hard, with you, to replace the father, brother, and family. Thanks to you, after God, we tried to restore the love of life to their hearts... We penetrated their innocent dreams and added colors and hope to them... As for women, they had an opportunity in our sun, in which they gained experience and expertise, so they stood on their feet, dear and precious...
