Humanitarian crises and natural disasters are stations that require a rapid response and integrated efforts to provide the necessary support and alleviate the suffering of those affected. In this context, Shams Association played a pivotal role in the emergency response, as its efforts were clearly evident during the Corona pandemic and in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria. The earthquake displaced thousands of families, who found themselves homeless and lost their loved ones, to face tragic humanitarian conditions coinciding with the winter season, as affected families suffered from a lack of shelter, food, health care, and basic supplies. In response, Shams Association, in cooperation with institutions, played a major role in contributing to rescuing those trapped under the rubble and providing support and containing the suffering of those families on several axes:

  • Providing shelter
  • Providing food
  • Health support
  • Basic supplies
  • Psychological support

Human solidarity and the cooperation of individuals and institutions remain of utmost importance in facing humanitarian challenges and ensuring that aid reaches those who deserve it as quickly as possible.
