Sponsoring an orphan is not just a noble humanitarian act, but rather a symbol of social solidarity and one of the highest forms of mercy and giving. When one of us sponsors an orphan child, he or she is given a new chance at life, full of love, care and education, which helps him or her achieve his or her dreams that may have been obliterated by loss one day. Sponsorship also contributes to promoting the values of mercy and solidarity within society, becoming more than just financial support, but rather a human story that carries the meanings of giving and participation.
Based on these values, Shams Association, through the sponsorship sector, and with the support of individuals and institutions, took the initiative to extend a helping hand to orphans and needy families. The forms of sponsorship varied to include:
- Orphan sponsorship: Providing comprehensive care that includes education, health and psychological support.
- Needy families sponsorship: Helping families provide the basic needs for a decent life.
- Disability sponsorship: Supporting people with disabilities to enable them to overcome the challenges they face.
- Students sponsorship: Providing educational support to students to ensure the continuity of their education and the achievement of their aspirations.
The number of sponsored people so far has reached 6,380 orphans and 1,050 families, distributed in Turkey, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine, reflecting the positive impact of these efforts in alleviating the suffering of the most needy groups and restoring hope to their hearts.
